ABOUT ME
WHAT MAKES ME, ME
Health is my obsession, movement is my language, and competition is my comfort zone.
Over the years, I’ve racked up the medals and miles in CrossFit competitions, races from one to 40 miles on every kind of terrain, triathlons (including a half-Ironman), century rides, stair climbs, and some truly unhinged obstacle course events. There have been big wins — like breaking the tape as the first overall female in a NYC 5K and standing on top of the podium at a national CrossFit comp. But the losses? They’ve shaped me just as much. Whether I was failing, bonking, cramping, crashing or breaking my ankle at the Spartan World Champs, I’ve questioned why I do these things. And the answer is always the same: It’s not about avoiding the hard moments. It’s about how I meet them.
Because training — like life — doesn’t promise easy reps or a smooth terrain. There are peak days that make you feel invincible and brutal ones that test everything you’ve got. What I’ve learned about myself through it all is that I show up. I never quit. And I bring that same energy, heart, rigor and relentless integrity to everything I do.
While movement has shaped my story, it’s not the whole thing. I’m a lifelong learner with an insatiable hunger to understand more, whether that’s biomechanics or brand strategy, psychology or parenting, houseplants or human behavior. I seek out knowledge gaps and close them through research, education and lived experience. I love change and chase newness. This restlessness, dissatisfaction…it’s about growth. I crave the edge of the unfamiliar because that’s where transformation happens.
I’m purpose-driven to my core. I won’t do, create or co-sign anything I don’t believe in. I put my whole self into the things I care about, and it shows. That’s the thread through every chapter of my story: I don’t go through the motions. I go all in.
My Formula
Whether I’m leading a team, raising my son or showing up for a friend, I operate with the same ethos: deep care, high standards. Helping people rise — myself included — is how I move through the world, and how I hope to move it forward.

What Colleagues Have Had to Say
-
“Jaclyn is an extremely gifted high achiever and hard worker. Her output is remarkable for its quality, quantity and efficiency. Plus she is always ready to put her hand up to help elsewhere. For example, she has implemented an editorial copy desk from scratch for our department. She has set up and now runs a College Essay Mentorship Program at Nike. She is responsible for the Nike Writing Style Guide for the entire company. And she sits on Nike's Inclusive Copy Taskforce.”
Former Manager
-
“Her wealth of knowledge for content creation and the health and fitness space is seemingly never ending. She has taken it largely upon herself to hold all of Nike to a higher standard when it comes to health and fitness content — building guidelines for the entire brand to use and strategies that will lead a hopeful charge for us to become a trusted brand in the fitness space. Hands down, she makes us all better (individuals, teams and the brand). So much of our credibility in this space has been led by Jac.”

“Jac’s work comes through on the upper edge of perfect. Her relentless drive for growth and perfection is simply unmatched. She is fearless in driving what she believes to be right for the business and moving the work forward and does it with such articulation and class. She represents her work and contributions beautifully. She is a relationship builder within the org and is highly respected by her peers and subordinates. She shows younger talent a new style of leadership.”

It’s never about the finish line. It’s always the miles in between.
I grew up in Gurnee, Illinois (yup, where Cousin Eddie’s gas gave out) before heading to college in Tallahassee, Florida, and then grad school in Los Angeles. The morning after graduation, I boarded a one-way flight to New York City with no job, no connections and one big dream: become a magazine editor. (It was 2009 and not exactly the golden era of print. But I wasn’t about to let a recession — or a declining industry — ruin my plans.)
Somehow, it all worked out. Over the course of eight years my name was on the masthead of three of the biggest titles in the business and I got to do exactly what I’d set out to do. Along the way, I met lifelong friends and my husband, and we got the World’s Sweetest Frenchie, Chandler Muriel (yes, Chandler’s a girl). When a family illness struck, we made the difficult decision to leave the city and start a new chapter in the Pacific Northwest where I began phase two of my career: brand storytelling and marketing.
Today, I live in Portland, Oregon, with my husband, Scott, our son, Fox, and Chandler.
